Ms. Lam Montessori is hiring an AMI-trained Elementary Montessori Guide. Whether you are taking the children on a Going-Out, putting on a performance for Chinese New Year, or helping the children create exciting research projects, our culture is bringing out the best in children. Ms. Lam Montessori has 40 years of history as a creator and ‘bringer’ of authentic Montessori to new places. Ms. Lam was the first person to bring the Montessori Method to Taiwan 40 years ago and now Ms. Lam’s daughter has brought authentic AMI Mandarin-English Montessori to Brooklyn, NY. The Ideal Candidate

• Holds an AMI Elementary diploma

• Has 1–10 years of experience in a Montessori classroom (preferred, but we welcome passionate candidates at all levels of experience)

• Is creative, adaptable, and strong in execution

• Is dedicated to providing an authentic Montessori education for elementary-aged children

• Enjoys co-teaching with a Mandarin-speaking teacher in a dual-language environment

• Values collaboration and professional growth

• Is skilled at preparing and maintaining an inspiring Montessori classroom environment

• Communicates effectively with parents and enjoys educating them about Montessori philosophy

• Mandarin skills are not required

Salary and Benefits

• $60,000–$90,000 annually, commensurate with experience

• Four weeks of paid vacation in the summer

Upper Elementary English Teacher

Ms. Lam Montessori (Mandarin Immersion) is hiring an experienced English teacher for our Upper Elementary program (grade 3-5) to provide rigorous and engaging English lessons. At this age (8-11 years) our students are writing weekly essays, studying grammar, spelling, handwriting, and reading comprehension. 

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds an AMI Elementary certificate OR has 2-4 years experience teaching elementary English 

• Is passionate about the English Language and Culture

• Can create interesting and engaging lessons modeled on the Montessori method

• Can create lesson plans to tailor the needs of an individual child

• Is a team player committed to professional and personal growth

• Takes ownership of working towards each child's progress

Salary and Benefits

• Elementary: $60,000-$75,000 commensurate with experience

Full-Time / Part-Time Assistant Teacher-Mandarin Speaker

Job Duties

• Daily setting up and cleaning of the classroom

• Assisting the lead teacher during classroom hour, lunch, and nap

• Prepare to lead storytime, singing, or other language work once a week

• Prepare and restock teaching materials

• Take ownership of the classroom and willing to step up when needed

• Help the school become a better place to work by openly communicating with the Director, Lead Teacher, and other staff

Requirements

• The ability to communicate effectively in both Mandarin and English

• Excellent verbal communication skills

• Experience with the bopomofo/Taiwanese alphabet system a plus but not necessary

• Ability to multi-task effectively

• Enjoys working with children

• Committed and passionate about the job

• Interested in growth and development as a teacher

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary and benefits. Room and board nearby the school may be available to full-time qualified candidates. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided for all children and staff.
